Hayley & Andrew | Real Weddings at Bachilton Barn

How did you two meet?

Andrew and I met at High School when we were 14!

What was it that made you choose Bachilton Barn?

Bachilton was the first venue we viewed and we instantly fell in love with it. We love the Scottish outdoors, the rustic feel and amazing outdoor space felt just right for us. The barn itself is a showstopper - an amazing indoor space with original beams and fairy lights, it felt amazing having our wedding breakfast in here! The Bachilton staff must have a mention here too. Initially we met Sarah and Kayleigh and we knew they were the right kind of people for us to help plan our wedding. They were amazing!! The "your wedding, your way" approach Bachilton have is exactly what we wanted, we loved adding our personal touches to the venue. There is something so magical about Bachilton!

What was important to you when planning your wedding?

We wanted to put our own stamp on our day and ensure it reflected us as a couple, filled with all the things we love. This is no mean feat, and having the support there when needed was important - something that Bachilton provided all the way through. We went to all the open days at Bachilton, and booked quite a few of our suppliers following these. It was important to us to have trusted suppliers there, and ones who knew Bachilton well. We loved that all our nearest could be at our venue for the full weekend including our dog Leo, the onsite accommodation was great.

Tell us about your big day! What was your favourite part?

Our day was a true reflection of us as a couple, filled with so much love and laughter! It would be impossible to pick just one favourite part. Our personal ceremony telling our story, stunning decor provided by All Wrapped Up with some DIY bits thrown in, the amazing grazing platters and wedding breakfast supplied by Regis Banqueting, our great wedding band The Tones who filled the barn with the best music where we all danced the night away! The day was filled with so many amazing memories, a lot of which we are still hearing about from our guests. Special moments that will last a lifetime!

What tips and tricks would you give to other couples planning their wedding?

Don't get caught up in the stress of wedding planning - easier said than done, but it honestly works out in the end. This time goes far too fast so soak it in, and appreciate that it's all part of the process and give yourself credit for your hard work!

Be organised, budget and plan - you can't go wrong from there. You set the vibe for the day, so enjoy it and don't stress! You worked so hard to get there, so take every single second of it in.

Make sure to take time out just the two of our at different points of the day - after ceremony, during the meal, during the evening. Take it all in and look at the amazing day you have put together!

How are you enjoying married life?

We are loving it! We have started our new chapter whilst also loving looking back on our wedding day. We love hearing others memories from the day too!

And finally… Shout out your fabulous suppliers:
This is the dream team behind the scenes! We cannot thank them all enough!
