Laura & Andrew | Real Weddings at Bachilton Barn
How did you two meet?
We met on a dating app.
What was it that made you choose Bachilton Barn?
We instantly fell in love with Bachilton the first time we visited! We are both from small rural places and Bachilton reminded us both of home with its natural, rustic, countryside charm! We absolutely loved the outdoor space and hoped that we would get the weather to be able to use this on our day (and luckily we did!) and the barn itself was a massive selling point to us with its beautiful beams which we knew from day one we wanted to decorate. We also loved that the venue was a beautiful blank canvas which we could make our own and we had so much fun adding our own personal touches!
What was important to you when planning your wedding?
Personal touches!! We knew that we wanted to be very much involved throughout the wedding planning process and setting up of the day. Bachilton are so helpful and flexible and encourage you to have your wedding your way which we loved. We were able to bring our dream wedding to life through everything from our natural/ rustic with a touch of boho theme, beautiful flowers, signature cocktail station, vintage wedding car, outdoor speeches and special personal details.
Tell us about your big day! What was your favourite part?
We could not possibly choose a favourite part, we loved absolutely everything about our day! Our wonderful and humorous ceremony, capturing the day through beautiful photographs, outdoor speeches, the most amazing meal courtesy of Delicious Catering, and of course dancing the night away with all of our favourite people. Our day was filled with love and laughter which will provide a lifetime of very special memories!
What tips and tricks would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
1. Enjoy it! The wedding planning process is super stressful at times so it’s very easily to become overwhelmed but don’t forget to enjoy it, especially the build up in the weeks leading up to the wedding because the day itself goes unbelievably fast! Also take a moment on the day to soak it all in and admire and appreciate all the work you have put in to creating your big day.
2. Take a moment just the two of you! You will spend so much time mingling with your loved ones but don’t forget to take a moment with your new husband or wife when you get the chance!
3. Delegate! Call upon your loved ones to help you with the planning process and on the day as everyone will want to help out as much as they can! We would recommend identifying someone on the day as a go to in case there are any hiccups so that you don’t have to manage these and can focus on having the best time ever!
How are you enjoying married life?
Absolutely loving it and cannot stop reliving the best day of our lives!!
