How did you two meet?
We both met through work!
What was it that made you choose Bachilton Barn?
First impressions, amazing setup both outside and inside. Very relaxed atmosphere and opportunity to make it how we wanted! The accommodation on site was also a bonus to us so we knew family had somewhere to stay etc.
What was important to you when planning your wedding?
It was important to us we had somewhere big enough to bring all our family together to have a great time. We wanted everything in the one place. Music is a big things for us too, so it was important to get that right for our day and I think it was perfect with the mix of a piper and string quartet during the day then an absolute amazing band at night. There was ample place for the 7 musicians in the barn, along with tables for everyone whilst keeping plenty space for people dancing – and the dance floor was never empty!
Tell us about your big day! What was your favourite part?
Honestly, the whole day was just amazing for us. Although, immediately after our ceremony, we both exited into the barn whilst everyone else were congregating outside for the group/confetti shot. We had 5 mins on our own with a glass of fizz (thanks Kayleigh!) just to digest the fact we had actually just got married, it was really nice time together
What tips and tricks would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
First thing I would say is probably set a budget we didn’t really do this and then it did sort of slip considering this was our 3rd date! Don’t stress over the little things, we got worried about wee things that honestly on the day we didn’t even notice! Speak to your venue and suppliers, no question is a daft question and remember they are the ones that have done it before and know how things work best. We thankfully had great suppliers around us that kept us right the whole way through. Try and just enjoy your day, when it got to the night before our wedding and we had finished the decorating that was it, time to relax and enjoy the time. There were a few hiccups in the morning for us with different things but honestly we just brushed them off and didn’t let anything spoil our day.

We are only just 1 week in but loving it already
