Jill & Chris got married on a stunning Saturday in April 2022 and put their personal stamp on our venue! It was beautiful day full of love and joy - here's what Jill & Chris had to say about planning their day at Bachilton!

What was it that made you choose Bachilton Barn?
Have you seen it!? Why would you not choose it?
As soon as we drove down that long road and over the hill we knew. From the gorgeous pond to the moat scenic backdrops, we were in awe. But what really sold it for us was the fact there was enough accommodation to fit our family and bridal party. Having that from a Friday to Monday just made it all the more special. It was like being away on holiday! The inside of the venue is absolutely stunning and just so homely, filled with natural light and of course endless fairy lights. It was what we hoped for and more.
What was important to you when planning your wedding?
When planning our day, the priority was to have a space to make our own but to have the support to make it a reality. We wanted a wedding that was relaxed, fun and mostly a reflection of who we are as a couple. For us, family and friends are everything, so having the opportunity to have nearly half of our wedding party stay in the onsite accommodation was fantastic. The setting is the perfect backdrop for any couple who appreciate the beauty of Scottish scenery and want a private and personal wedding day.
Tell us about your big day! What was your favourite part?
How are you supposed to pick an answer to this question? Literally the most perfect day. It was just such a relaxed and chilled day. Everyone just kept telling us they could see just pure happiness oozing out of us. The fact that we had all those people under the one roof was just emotional and amazing all at once. Waiting years for a celebration like this and not knowing what would happen with restrictions, it was like one big reunion filled with love and laughter. Oh…and an ice cream cart.
What tips and tricks would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
Appreciate and take in every moment. What will be will be. When will you have the exact same people all under the same roof again? This is your day. Your voice. Your choice.
How are you enjoying married life?
Having the best time! We just got our photos, so reliving the day with the emotions was amazing. Cannot wait for our video. Heading on a minimoon next month and then going to look at booking a honeymoon. Determined to drag this out as long as we possibly can!
