Kirsty & Scott | Real Weddings at Bachilton Barn

Kirsty & Scott got married in November 2021 after postponing a whole year! Their wedding was full of amazing personal touches and had a stunning neutral colour scheme with pops of deep red throughout. Read what they had to say about planning their big day at Bachilton Barn:

How did you two meet?
In high school!

What was it that made you choose Bachilton Barn?

The chilled out DIY vibe and the stunning scenery.

What was important to you when planning your wedding?

Having some control over the day and the catering/drinks etc. and making it a bit different to every wedding we’d been to before!

Tell us about your big day! What was your favourite part?
Our wedding was postponed a year due to the pandemic so we had a wee bit longer to wait but it made it even more worthwhile! We had designed a menu to suit our vegan/vegetarian family members and picked our own personalised cocktails to be served at the bar. Our favourite part was the first dance. We’d went back and forth on what song to choose and we ended up with Earth Angel from back to the future; one of our favourite films. It was just so special to share that moment together and look around to see our wonderful friends and family. And of course when the band then went immediately into Johnny B. Goode (as in the film), that was just perfection and we weren’t expecting it. Dancing the night away with our guests was just wonderful.

What tips and tricks would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
Honestly, just remember what you’re doing this for. It’s about your marriage and try to remember that if things get a bit stressful (and they will), it’s worth it all in the end.

How are you enjoying married life?
Absolutely loving it! Although nothing has changed much, we’re still decorating our house and enjoying Saturday night pizzas with our friends.
