Karen & Scott | Real Weddings at Bachilton Barn

How did you two meet?
We met over Tinder – Scott super liked me and I then matched with him!

What was it that made you choose Bachilton Barn?
We loved how comfortable we felt as soon as we walked in – it just felt like our venue and we hadn’t done anything to it yet but it just felt instantly magical and like we were meant to get married at Bachilton.

What was important to you when planning your wedding?
We wanted to try and involve as many people we knew into the day as possible – my brother Graham designed and made all the stationary, one of my friends made our cake, friends and former colleagues were our photographer and hair and make up artist – we really wanted the day to feel personal and for us to be surrounded by friends and family to fill our day with love and laughter!

Tell us about your big day! What was your favourite part?
After the past two years – of Covid and all that was involved with it – we just wanted to get married surrounded by our most favourite people and have everyone enjoy the day as much as we knew we would! And that is exactly what it was – it was just filled with happiness, love and laughter from the start until the finish and we would do it again tomorrow! It was just magical!

What tips and tricks would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
Do not get caught up in the madness of what you think you need at a wedding to make it good/fun – big LOVE Letters, or a sweetie cart, or a photo booth will not make your day – marrying your best friend with everyone you love around you is all that matters – don’t get carried away with what you think you need to have there on the day – it’s not important in the grand scheme of what the day really means.

How are you enjoying married life?
We are still on cloud 9 and we are 4 weeks in! We have our honeymoon to look forward to now and we just can’t wait to see where life will take us! It’s very exciting!
